Eating with Suze



Famous for its generous servings, Suze in Mayfair offers fare of an Australasian style with favourites including NZ venison, lamb and green shell mussels, their own smoked meats and fish as well as the famous pavlova dessert. A merge of interesting flavours combined with innovative preparation make Suze in Mayfair a culinary treat for all. Suze food always comes reasonably priced and served with a smile!

In the early days, co owner Susan?s inspiration was often based on family and friends? recipes thereby offering authentic homemade dishes with a professional twist. Nowadays Head Chef Matt West keeps the kitchen cooking and enjoys the variety and uniqueness of the Suze approach to food, while also bringing his individual talents to the the Suze team.

?I stick with the old clich? ?keep it simple, keep it fresh? because it works! Natural flavours are the best flavours. I find coming from Australia and cooking Pacific Rim is an advantage. It allows you freedom to move and to play with food and new ideas. For me Suze is a great platform to showcase New Zealand and Australian cuisine,? says Matt.

"My experience has had a strong basis on combining classical with modern cooking", says Matt. "As a result I am very proud we have built a strong team who can incorporate my style of cuisine within Suze in Mayfair, allowing us to deliver our own distinctive interpretation of Australasian fare".

Suze menus are based on the freshest ingredients, with some such as seafood and meat, being flown in from New Zealand and Australia each week. As co-owner Tom jokes, ?the produce is so fresh the yabbies are still flapping!?

Vegetarians and specialist diets are well catered for. Menus change every month.
